“The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul.” Psalm 19:7b

In comparison to you, Lord,

we are simple,

shallow,

unknowing

and uncaring.

But,”The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.”

With the brightness of your Word, you give understanding to our simple minds

“The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.” Psalm 19:7a

Therefore we can begin to see the correct foundation

of thought, of life, of truth and philosophy, science and history, politics and religion.

With this foundational grasp of

Your existence,

character,

and power,

we can have some understanding of

how you work,

what you are doing.

and therefore we can obey and partner with you in all.

This obedience is helped by knowing that

“By [Your decrees] your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.” Psalm 19:11

And this obedience of Your Word will bring us joy: as it says in Psalm 19:8

“The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart.”
