The fruit of the Spirit is familiar to many of us,
in fact, we can probably recite them easily.
But how often do we stop to think about the meaning of each?
Here’s how one person describes them in a challenging way.
Love is “inconvenient”, it stays when it could leave.
Joy survives bad news.
Peace doesn’t need to control.
Patience “bites its tongue.”
Kindness needs no audience.
Good is there when no one is watching.
Faithfulness presses on when quitting would be easier,
Gentleness is strong, not weak.
Self-control shuts the doors before sin finishes knocking.
This is what the Spirit wants to develop in us,
These descriptions fit right in with Jesus’ words:
“…If any man will come after me, let him deny himself,
and take up his cross, and follow me.” Matt 16:24
Are we cooperating?
