Family can be a very good thing, and I’m glad to say ours is. The five of us siblings had a good childhood, growing up together on the farm, all going to a good church, most of us working together on feeding the cows, getting in hay, helping my father in his tire business and playing an instrument in my Grandfather’s family band.
And our good relationships have, for the most part, continued on into the present, with grace, kindness, love and support–even though we live far apart.
I am so thankful for this as I look around and see so many broken families, so many families filled with strife and discontent. Truly It is good when brothers and sisters live together in harmony.
This picture of us all, with Mom and Dad, was taken in East St. Louis while visiting our Grandparents, probably in the mid 60s.
