“I lift up my eyes to you, to you whose throne is in heaven.” Psalm 123:1a

Praise you, my Heavenly Father, that you are the sovereign One, reigning over the events of our lives–and at the same time, giving us great latitude in making decisions.

Praise you that you can then weave all together to bring about the results you desire.

I think of Jonah, who in his disobedience, was able to tell the sailors on his sinking ship about you, the great Creator God. When you demonstrated your power to them by calming the storm after they threw Jonah overboard, they worshipped you!

You can even take our disobedience and use it for good. Amazing!

But, at the same time, it is good to remember that you will do even more amazing things when we obey!

Think of Daniel who ended up in the lion’s den because he obeyed you. and the salvation you sent him turned into a powerful witness to all around him.

Obedience is best; trust is tremendous; faith is fabulous. Let’s stay on that level in our lives.
