In the midst of Barbara’s debilitating illness, thank you that I can rest in the plan that you have for us, Lord God, and praise you with all my heart. I give you glory, O Triune Lord, for your wise and gracious, good and powerful being.
I praise you Heavenly Father for your unchanging plans and purposes for my life. I praise you, Lord Jesus, for your faithful and wise shepherding, providing all I need, making me to lie down in green pastures. I praise you, Holy Spirit, for your gracious, gentle and persistent teaching, convicting and guiding in all.
“I love you, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies” Psalm 18:1-3)
You are the One who is in control, and your Ruling is always right, your Sovereign Shepherding is always wise and good, your Guidance and Grace are always timely, your Teaching and Tenacity are always trustable–even if we cannot understand them.
“The cords of death entangled me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears” (Psa. 18;4-6).
And in your faithfulness you helped me, you saved me, you protected me.
“He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me” Psa 18:16-17).
I bow before you now, Lord God, in thankfulness for your rich, deep, wise and wonderful character, filled with the treasures of goodness and righteousness, mercy and love. You are worthy of total worship, of complete surrender and utter obedience, of persistent praise and great glory in every situation. I bow before you now; guide me in giving you glory throughout today.
