“How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” Psalm 119:103
The more I meditate on your Word, Lord, memorizing, personalizing and praying it, the sweeter the Word becomes.
I praise you, O Lord, for your great and glorious Revelation;
I praise you for the privilege of partnering with your Spirit in understanding, embracing and applying your Word in my life.
To you be glory for your powerful plan of redemption, transformation and continual growth.
Your Word shows you to be a consistent giver of goodness to all creatures, whether they be your children or your enemies. You are the God of unbounded grace, pouring out on all peoples the opposite of what we deserve.
Your Word helps us to see this, as we so naturally fool ourselves into thinking we are good, comparing ourselves with those we consider worse than us, rather than comparing ourselves to your perfect standard.
You have also revealed your multifaceted and lovely character in how you created all we can see. Praise you for the beauty of your world, twisted though it may be by sin:
a myriad of shades of green,
a multitude of types of flowers,
a million different colors,
a majestic display of your power in forming mountains, plains and seas,
a magnificent show of glory in the stars every night.
You have created the vast variety of animals: the intricacies of the minute world of single-celled creatures, the incredible variety of insects, the many means of movement from the flagellum of a virus to the great bodies of elephants, walrus and whales.
And the expanse of your creation astounds us: the superb spread of the heavens stretching out billions of light years and on beyond anything we can comprehend.
Praise you for revealing yourself in both your Word and in your world, giving all people opportunity to know you, to come to you, to enter your shelter, your Kingdom, your Family.
Help us to ever walk in awe of you, your wisdom, your power and your love.
