“As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love….” said Jesus in John 15:9,10
I praise you that in you, Lord Jesus, we are
chosen, holy and dearly loved;
that we are called to abide in you;
that we are claimed to be your sons and daughters, commissioned to special service,
“As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love….” said Jesus in John 1
commanded to live for your glory,
to praise you in all things,
to rejoice in your goodness,
to obey in your power,
to worship in your presence.
Your love is beyond conception, beyond imagination, beyond comprehension, beyond human wisdom.
Your love is cleansing, forgiving, transforming, uplifting, edifying, and purifying.
Your love is the opposite of selfishness, pride, ambition and control.
It is empowering, equipping, embracing, enduring and excellent.
It is too good to be true, yet is more than true.
In your love we can bask and be transformed. As we look upon you, shining in your glorious love, we are being transformed into your image (2 Cor. 3:18). And in delighting in you, in being satisfied in you, we give you glory.
Prayer: “Forgive us, Father, for not giving you more glory, honor and praise by basking consistently in your great, glorifying, gracious love.
Help me, Lord, to revel in your love all day today, to walk in the light of your goodness, to exalt your name, to rejoice in you, to embrace all that you send, for you are good and worthy of all worship, obedience and love. Amen.”
